What is P21-adamantane?
P21-adamantane is a modified neurotrophin-mimetic peptide derived from the CNTF (ciliary neurotrophic factor) sequence, with an adamantane moiety attached to enhance blood-brain barrier penetration and receptor engagement. Activates STAT3/JAK signalling and BDNF expression. Studied for hippocampal neurogenesis, cognitive enhancement, and neuroprotection models, with the adamantane modification providing superior CNS bioavailability compared to unmodified P21. Research use only.
Research Applications
Hippocampal Neurogenesis
Dentate gyrus progenitor cell proliferation, BrdU/EdU incorporation, DCX expression
BDNF Upregulation
