What is Tadalafil?
Tadalafil is a selective phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor used to treat erectile dysfunction, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and pulmonary arterial hypertension. By inhibiting PDE5, tadalafil increases cyclic GMP (cGMP) levels in smooth muscle cells, promoting vasodilation and increased blood flow in targeted tissues.
It has a longer half-life than many other PDE5 inhibitors, which allows for once-daily dosing and a prolonged therapeutic effect.
