What is SR9009?
SR9009 is a synthetic agonist of REV-ERBα and REV-ERBβ — nuclear receptors that function as core components of the circadian clock and metabolic regulators. Activation suppresses BMAL1 expression, increases mitochondrial number and activity, and enhances fatty acid and glucose oxidation. Studied as a circadian rhythm modulator, metabolic enhancer, and exercise mimetic. Research use only.
Research Applications
REV-ERBα/β Agonism
Nuclear receptor activation, BMAL1 suppression, core clock disruption studies
Circadian Rhythm Research
Clock gene modulation, light-dark cycle interaction, chronobiology models
Mitochondrial Biogenesis
REV-ERB driven mitochondrial proliferation, oxidative capacity, energy flux
Metabolic Rate & Fat Oxidation
Fatty acid oxidation upregulation, glucose utilisation, thermogenesis
Exercise Mimetic Studies
Endurance enhancement without training — running capacity models, VO₂max surrogates
