What is PNC-27?
PNC-27 is a 32-amino acid synthetic anticancer peptide derived from the p53 tumor suppressor protein. It contains a penetratin sequence for membrane permeability and an HDM-2 binding domain. PNC-27 selectively induces necrosis in cancer cells by binding to HDM-2 in the cancer cell membrane while sparing normal cells, making it a promising subject for cancer research.
