What is GHK Basic?
GHK Basic is the free tripeptide Gly-His-Lys without copper chelation — the unbound precursor form of GHK-Cu. Naturally present in human plasma at concentrations that decline with age, GHK activates collagen synthesis, antioxidant gene expression, wound repair signalling, and tissue remodelling pathways. The copper-free form is used where isolated peptide activity independent of copper-mediated redox chemistry is required. Research use only.
Research Applications
Collagen Synthesis Research
Fibroblast collagen I/III expression, TGF-β pathway, ECM deposition — isolated from copper effects
Gene Expression Modulation
GHK activation of >4,000 human genes — antioxidant (SOD, catalase), anti-inflammatory, repair
Wound Healing Studies
Keratinocyte migration, fibroblast proliferation, angiogenesis without copper redox contribution
Copper-Free Control Experiments
Baseline GHK tripeptide activity as experimental control vs GHK-Cu chelated form
Skin Aging Research
Age-related plasma GHK decline models, dermal fibroblast senescence, matrix metalloproteinase regulation
