What is Aromasin?

Exemestane (Aromasin) is a steroidal Type I aromatase inhibitor — irreversible “suicide” inhibitor of CYP19A1. Binds the aromatase active site permanently until new enzyme is synthesised. Mechanistically distinct from reversible Type II AIs (letrozole, anastrozole). Research: permanent enzyme inactivation kinetics, hormone-sensitive cancer. CAS 107868-30-4.
