What is Matrixyl?
Matrixyl (Palmitoyl Pentapeptide-4) is a matrikine / collagen-stimulating peptide. Palmitoyl-Lys-Thr-Thr-Lys-Ser pentapeptide; mimics collagen breakdown fragments (matrikines) to upregulate collagen I, III, fibronectin, and hyaluronic acid synthesis via TGF-β pathway activation. Research use only.
Research Applications
Collagen Synthesis Research
Type I & III collagen upregulation, fibroblast activation, ECM remodelling
TGF-β Pathway Studies
TGF-β1 receptor activation, downstream SMAD signalling, gene expression
Skin Ageing Models
Wrinkle reduction, dermal thickness, elasticity studies in vitro/ex vivo
Wound Healing Research
Fibroblast proliferation, ECM scaffold restoration, tissue regeneration
Biomaterial & Cosmeceutical R&D
