What is Prednisone?
Prednisone is a synthetic glucocorticoid prodrug — converted hepatically to active prednisolone. Binds the glucocorticoid receptor (GR) with high affinity, mediating broad anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive effects via genomic (GRE transactivation/transrepression) and non-genomic pathways.
