What is MENT (Trestolone Acetate)?
MENT (Trestolone Acetate — potent synthetic 19-nor androgen (injectable)) is the acetate ester of trestolone — C₂₁H₃₀O₃, MW 346.5. 7α-methyl-19-nortestosterone acetate with ~10× greater AR binding affinity than testosterone. Unlike testosterone, MENT cannot be converted to DHT by 5α-reductase (7α-methyl group blocks reduction). Partially aromatises to 7α-methyl-oestradiol. Originally developed as a male hormonal contraceptive. High progestogenic activity.
Research Applications
High-Affinity Synthetic Androgen Research
~10× greater AR binding vs testosterone — high-potency androgen receptor studies
5α-Reductase Resistance
7α-methyl group blocks 5α-reduction to DHT — tissue-selective androgenic activity model
Male Hormonal Contraception Research
Original MENT application — HPT axis suppression for male contraception studies
Progestogenic Activity
High PR agonism — progesterone receptor cross-reactivity and progestogenic co-effects
19-nor Synthetic Androgen Pharmacology
MENT vs nandrolone and trenbolone — comparative 19-nor receptor pharmacology
